GIRL POWER GOES A LONG WAY

Sunday, February 26, 2012
Parisi Speed School, Morris Plains, NJ

The four U8 Girls teams proved that big things come in small packages yesterday at the 3v3 soccer tournament in Morris Plains.
Bridgewater BSA Rage took on the local Lady Kickers (Pre K Kickers), Morris Plains SC, and Morristown's Pretty Girl Rock.  Although the three latter teams had younger and smaller players on them, they truly proved that the size of the person does NOT determine the size of her heart.
The Lady Kickers and Morris Plains SC fought through each and every game with everything they had, fighting the bigger girls off with defensive tactics.  Pretty Girl Rock made it to the finals against BSA, putting faith in their coach to guide them to victory.  It was BSA, though, who played mercilessly until the end, winning the championship title.

Favorite Quote of the Match:
Girl from BSA to Coach of Lady Kickers: "Your team looks good.  I like them."
Coach of Lady Kickers: "So you're gonna go easy on us?"
Girl from BSA: "Nope!"

Good girl!

NO SUBS, NO MERCY- MONTVILLE GLADIATORS MAKE IT HAPPEN

Sunday, February 19th, 2012.  Morris Plains, NJ.

The Boys U7 Super Six tournament started out with the Marlboro Mutiny taking on the Morristown Zebras, a very competitive game- the perfect opener for the competitive rounds to come.  Things started heating up during the cross-conference games, which would determine who would take first and second places in each division.  Marlboro Mutiny won the first place seed in their division, after a nail-biting cross-conference series, and later played in the finals against the Montville Gladiators- who played the entire tournament with only three players.  It was the three-man team who finally took home the medals.

Congratulations to all of the teams, Montville Gladiators, Marlboro Mutiny, Brick FC, Kicker Crew, Branchburg Panthers, and Morristown Zebras, for playing in a highly-competitive tournament that had families sitting on the edges of their seats.

RIVALS RUN THE SHOW

February 12, 2012, Morris Plains, NJ
The crowd roared with emotion last Sunday while rivals, Roxbury and Randolph went head-to-head in the finals of the U9 Girls 3V3 soccer tournament.

This six team tournament began with the two opponents, two teams each, and their friendly neighbor, Mount Olive (2 teams, as well).  The games were close, but it was Roxbury and Randolph who battled through until the end.  The Roxbury girls took home first place, but Randolph was certainly recognized.

This rivalry was the most intense, crowd-pleasing tournament yet for Short Sided Soccer.

SHORT SIDED SOCCER HOSTS SUPER SIX

Sunday, February 5th, 2012, Morris Plains, NJ
Yesterday's soccer tournament consisted of six star U8 Boys teams from all over New Jersey.  The undefeated Flight 1 Montvillle Gladiators took second place, while the well-renowned STA (Barca) won with a perfect record.  South Jersey's finest, NJSA (AC Milan) also participated, along with two other STA/Morristown teams and a newbie to Short Sided Soccer, Jefferson United.  The games were very close with scores like 4 to 3 and 5 to 3, proving it to be great ( and fair) competition.
We look forward to welcoming these teams back in March for a re-match!
