DEMPSEY AND MADISON GET IT DONE

December 16, 2012
Morris Plains, NJ

Short Sided Soccer hosted its largest U9 3v3 tournament on Sunday.  12 teams participated in this massive soccer event, which had to be split into morning and afternoon tournaments.

In the morning, SDFC Santos and Randolph won both of their first two games.  They later faced each other in their final game of their bracket, which determined who would advance. Both teams battled furiously for a chance to play in the championship game. It was SDFC Santos, who, with their on-point passing and determination, earned the win and a spot in the final.

Meanwhile, NJ Dempsey slipped past SDFC Corinthians, who fought hard to keep the score tight.  It wasn't until the closing minutes that Dempsey found the holes in SDFC's defense to pull a head with a 7-3 win. This hard-earned win energized them to win the rest of their games and make it to the end .

NJ Dempsey faced off against SDFC Santos in the final.  Both teams used Short Sided Soccer 3v3 to prepare them for the upcoming national Kick It 3v3 tournament.  NJ Dempsey turned on their afterburners and the boys were able to defeat last year's national champions, 7-0.

Madison Mavericks landed the championship title in the afternoon tournament against Parsippany Milan, Kaboom SA United, and Montclair Hurricanes.  Great jobs to all 12 teams!

Next U9 Boys tournament: Jan. 20, turf, Morris Plains & Feb. 2, futsal, Chatham
