Chatham, NJ
Six U11 Girls teams played in their first 3v3 futsal tournament yesterday at Chatham Day School. The local Chatham Liberty teams joined the Millburn Piranhas and the Ridge Falcons in this high-action event. Ridge
turned on the competition right away with a 5 to 1 win against Liberty
1, followed by an exciting comeback from allegiant Liberty 2 against
Millburn Piranhas 2. Contention
grew, however, in game four, as Liberty 2 and Liberty 3 battled for
their division title- a close game of 5 to 3, Liberty 2 claiming
victory. Although Ridge managed
to impress the crowd with their dynamic field play, they fell one game
short of the Piranhas 1, and to playing in the first place game. With great pace and an attacking mindset, Ridge tied Liberty 3 for second place. The final score was 7 to 7.
Liberty 2 faced Piranhas 1 in the final, marking their opponents with precision and confidence. Both teams held impervious defense, resulting in a 2-2 tie. The teams’ strong efforts resulted in an intense shoot-out, leaving the Piranhas champions of this tournament.
