Eight U8 girls teams rallied for the top spot in Short Sided Soccer's December 23rd tournament. Teams came from all over New Jersey- from Hoboken to Hillsborough- to play in this heavily talented competition.
Hoboken started the fight strong with a big win in the first game. The gap began to close in the second game between the Skeletons and Hoboken All-Stars 2- an exciting 5-4 game. Hoboken picked up their defense in game eight against Millburn, tying them 1-1. Hoboken fell slightly short in their last game against Lady Kickers, allowing Millburn to take second place in their division. The Skeletons took first in the same bracket, facing the determined Westfield ROU in the championship game.
Westfield put up a respectable fight in the final game, maintaining a solid defense. It was the Skeletons, however, who rattled the crowd with a hard-earned 3-1 win.
Congratulations to all teams for successfully participating in their first futsal tournament.
