The Morris United Fire danced to victory after becoming undefeated in their bracket at the U8 Girls 3v3 turf tournament in Morris Plains. The girls kicked off the tournament with an exciting, yet close match against the New Generation Crush, who proved to be great competition for the fiery team. After a 2-1 win, the Fire picked it up by sweeping the remainder of the tournament with speed, precision, and strength.
They met the Lady Kickers in the finals, who surprised everyone with their skill and aggressiveness. This U6 team, also with an undefeated record within their bracket, carried a fighting spirit that lent to their strong defense in the final game against the highly talented travel team. Playing up an age level and in size, the girls hung in it, deflecting many goal-scoring opportunities from the Fire. Morris United, however, used their experience to clinch the win, by a five-goal shut-out.
Congratulations to all teams for participating in the 3v3 tournament- New Generation Crush, Morris Plains Hurricanes, Roxbury Lemon Limes, Springfield Freedom, Lady Kickers, and Morris United Fire.
