FURY DEFEATS TEAMS IN PEACE

December 16, 2012
Chatham, NJ

The U14 girls teams involved in Sunday’s futsal tournament brought years of practice and skill for an exciting event.  Teams traveled from all over New Jersey to play in this explosive competition, and they certainly made the most out of their trips to Morris County.

Teams made up two brackets of four- both dexterous and tactful.  STA Fury 1 fired things up with a colossal win over the humble Morris United Revolution, followed by a division sweep against Arsenal Divas (Park Ridge) and Boca Mayhem (Brick).  Making it to the finals was no surprise, although their competition put on a good show.  The Arsenal- Morris United match was a close one, proving no fledglings came to play.  The game ended in 16 goals between both teams- a sure-fire crowd pleaser.

The other division consisted of STA Fury 2, Ocean Wildcats, Linden Diamonds, and Hackettstown Sparks.  All teams played with passion and determination, never letting Fury get to them.  With poise and professionalism, the girls played clean games, but all with one goal in mind- to beat STA.  Fury prevailed, however, and won both divisions, playing each other in the final.  The obviously friendly final between the two STA teams ended with medals for Fury 1, but a successful experience for all girls.

Next U14 Girls tournament: Feb. 3, futsal, Chatham
